'The Darling Mushroom' 

Written for a sweet little girl named Poppy, who loves all things magical and, with her big love for fungi in all shapes and forms, reminds us to never judge a mushroom by its cap.

In a beautiful glade where the wildflowers sway, lives a darling mushroom, awaiting friends to play.

With his cap lovely and round and his stem so neat, he welcomes all creatures with the sweetest of greets.

Under his canopy, they can find a snug nook, shield from raindrops or curl up with a book.

Perched upon his cap, birds sing and play, enjoying the view in a merry array.

He whispers sweet secrets to the busy bees in flight, and fairies twirl around him in the soft twilight.

Oh, how his friends adore him so, their dear little mushroom, with the magical glow.
